Attitude is the cornerstone of your success. Properly understood and embraced, a positive approach can enrich your personality and the impression you make on others. A deeper appreciation of attitude may cause you to change your outlook and enthusiastically join the ranks of those who consider attitude to be their most priceless possession. Research continues to validate that it has a compelling impact on your level of success. It empowers you achieve new levels of productivity in your professional and personal life.

In the interest of mutual understanding I offer two definitions of attitude: 1) your outlook towards things and 2) choice. You are what you think. You can choose to be miserable or you choose to make it a great day. My theory is that life is too short to be miserable, but it’s long enough to have some fun. You decide.

Top achievers understand that life offers choices; you can live a life of anticipation or a life of participation. The choice you make determines if you live with results or excuses.
Unfortunately, 75% of what we hear, see and read in a typical day is negative. We are bombarded with an onslaught of negative inputs as we navigate through a typical day. We often succumb to the negative, living our lives under a tremendous burden of stress. Many of us live in “quiet desperation”, failing to see the small percentage of positive that does exist. The vaccine is in the form of making a conscious choice, a choice to embrace and nurture a positive outlook. I believe that seeing the positive is a discipline. It takes conscious effort and energy to remain positive and energized throughout your day. It can be hard work.

Top achievers understand the importance of a winning edge and use it to differentiate themselves. They are guided by proven attitudinal characteristic of successful people who have gone before them. They embrace self-mentoring strategies and hold themselves responsible for their quality of life. No excuses.

Another common yet transparent saboteur of our day is the lack of daily goals, which I refer to as daily destinations. We often go into our day guided by nothing more than a sense of routine and familiarity of habit. Hence, our daily outcomes are determined by the urgencies of other people’s objectives. Without goals or destinations of our own, it’s inevitable that we become subservient to the demands of others. The sad fact is that up to 80% of our day can be re-active versus pro-active. Top achievers offset this silent theft of time guided by clear, daily destinations. Know where your finish line is for each and every day. It’s a simple yet effective strategy that puts more enjoyment in your day.

There are opportunities to make money from home all over the place. They come in many forms. One of the most difficult things in assessing an opportunity is if it is legitimate. The way that I like to check opportunities the most is talking with people I trust about new opportunities. I had done this for years in my circle of friends and family, however they did not understand how to get out of the "Rat Race". This is where the Mastermind group comes in. This is a group of like-minded people that you have formed as a group to bounce ideas off of. "Like minded" refers to the fact that they too are looking for opportunities to earn residual income from home and create businesses. For someone who actively seeks knowledge. It is amazing to me how we learn new concepts and techniques without really knowing it is happening. It is a different type of learning process. It is a process of experiencing life, taking in everything one can. Try to sift out the truth from the noise. And then think about the concepts, boil them down, play with them, then if all goes well you will have a gem. A little insight into how things work.

Mine has been the deepening of the understand of what Napoleon Hill refers to as the thinking in his Book Think and Grow Rich.

Case in point. Network marketing is more than just a good product. It is more than a good management team. It is more than having a demand for the opportunity as well as the product. It is about timing. It is like buying a stock. If you get the right stock at the right time, you will experience rapid growth. But if you get in late you might have something that is stable and show modest growth. But you will have missed the boom phase of that companies growth.

Conference Debriefing

I was on a debriefing call last night where the presenter was reporting the findings from a conference that he had attended.

Some things that I was able to pick up:

There is an incredible amount of time and passion put in by the researchers to make out products the best in the industry.
This is a business - treat it like one and you will have business income.
We are in the business of sifting and sorting. We are messengers of the information and people can either take it or leave it.
"You cannot say the wrong thing to the right person, but you cannot say the right thing to the wrong person."
People my be capable of being successful at the business but they must also want to be. (this takes trust)

Recently I have had the opportunity to speak with the owner of a company that is focused on helping others achieve their success on the internet. It's name is BizWizzle. Pattern for success - Take Notes

It is important to continue to think and to seek new ideas. We need to continue to grow in are ability to learn, understand and apply new ideas and processes. To this end the development of patters is very important. They become habits and these propel us.

Here are two quotes from billionaire founder of Virgin Records, Richard Branson taken from his book Virginity.
"I have always lived my life by making listslists of people to call, lists of ideas, lists of companies to set up, lists of people who can make things happen. Each day I work through these lists, and that sequence of calls propels me forward. Back in the 1970s I spent my time juggling different banks and suppliers and creditors, playing one off against the other to stay solvent. I'm still living the same way, but I'm now juggling bigger deals instead of banks. Once again, it is only a matter of scale."

And this is how he does it

As anyone in my office knows when I've lost it, my most essential possession is a standard-sized school notebook, which can be bought at any stationery shop on any high street across the country. I carry this everywhere and write down comments made to me by Virgin staff and anyone else I meet. I make notes of all telephone conversations and all meetings, and I draft out letters to send and lists of telephone calls to make. Over the years I have worked my way through a bookcase of them, and the discipline of writing everything down ensures that I have to listen to people carefully.

Often the most effective habits and processes are the simplest. You don't have time to get bogged down with your PDA's batteries dying.

Seek balance - I was told at one point in my life that the greatest truths are found in the simplest concepts.

I have been known to say "Doing things is overrated" - Believe me I have been razed for this one but the point is that there is a need for balance in life and sometimes doing things gets in the way of seeing what is important.

Work hard to recruit good people and it will be a pleasure to work with them and grow with them. Recruit people who are not ready for the task and you will be dragging them along kicking and screaming.

Truisms or not they are what guide and provide me with the direction and energy to help others achieve their goals.
